Mashable is seeking a talented and experienced reporter to join its newsroom in New York, NY. The reporter is responsible for Mashable’s business coverage, with an emphasis on media. He or she will cultivate sources, and write and report on the media beat for Mashable’s Business channel. The applicant will be expected to write two to four stories per day and will report to Mashable’s Business Editor.
Job Qualifications:
- Based in NY Metro area
- 4-5 years of professional editorial experience
- Strong grasp of grammar and AP Style
- Strong familiarity with WordPress (HTML) and social media tools like Twitter, Facebook, SocialFlow, etc.
- Highly organized
- Dedicated and deadline driven
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to develop sources and break news.
- Knowledge of the technology, social media, digital media and traditional media spaces
