Are you passionate about local sports at all levels? Do you have experience writing about sports at the high school or college level? If you do, this may be the position for you.
The Marshall News Messenger, a member of the M. Roberts Media East Texas family of newspapers, is seeking a Sports Editor to drive our coverage of local sport. Our Sports Editor will know how to develop a sports beat and sources within that beat. As the sports editor you will be responsible for coverage of a variety of sports in Harrison and Marion Counties. You will also collaborate with our sports departments in Tyler and Longview.
Responsibilities include live coverage, photography and video for youth, high school and college teams, and getting that coverage online daily and then two days a week in print.
