MarketWatch seeks a reporter to build a new beat at the corner of Wall Street and WallStreetBets. Among the topics to tackle: the future of trading and market structure, the interplay of supersized valuations, algorithms, memes, regulators, SPACs, and wackos.
The ideal candidate:
- Can bang out smart angles on big news as it unfolds, while also juggling short- and medium-term features and columns
- Can distill complex topics into sharp, conversational writing for a large general audience in a manner that informs and delights
This reporter must be willing to experiment with new formats and platforms for telling stories, willing to chip in on breaking news as part of a collaborative newsroom.
MarketWatch seeks someone with at least five years of reporting experience, a passion for business and financial news.
The position will ideally be based in New York, but the company will consider candidates from elsewhere if you can make a case that your location can be an asset to MarketWatch’s coverage.
