MarketWatch seeks a commerce editor to spearhead coverage that helps readers make smarter decisions about what goods and services to buy.
This editor will be tasked with developing new strategies around service journalism across a wide range of purchases big and small, in keeping with our larger mission to level the playing field in all financial transactions.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about breaking down sometimes complicated topics in a way that will engage the audience and help them choose the purchases that best fit their needs and budgets, and should possess a strong sense of how to assign and shape story angles, headlines, and social posts to best click with readers.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Adept at working across a wide range of teams within and outside Dow Jones, including freelance writers and new content partners
- Ability to analyze and act on data and analytics both in terms of reader engagement and sales
- At least five years of experience reporting and editing, ideally with some knowledge of financial services
