November 4, 2014

Posted by Chris Roush

MarketWatch.com seeks a reporter to dig into one of the single most important financial issues of our time: the $1.3 trillion in student-loan debt weighing down American college graduates and their families.

A member of our personal finance team, this reporter will dig into all aspects of student debt, college financing, and the ripple effects the loans are having on individuals, their careers, and the economy at large. The beat will also cover the relation student loans have with other forms of consumer debt.

Based in New York, the ideal candidate will be able generate ideas and spot trends, find unique takes and story angles that put us at the forefront of the conversation, and work collaboratively with a team of other personal finance reporters and editors. He or she will be expected to produce spot stories daily as well as work on longer features and should be enthusiastic about promoting and reporting stories using video, radio and social media.

Previous reporting experience necessary, at least three years in journalism, and an interest in personal finance.
