MarketWatch.com seeks a reporter who can filter the big news of the day through a single question: “What does this mean for me and my money?”

Every story is a personal finance story. People don’t read about business, finance, and public policy just for academic edification, but to for their own self interest. So this reporter will dig for unique money angles on the news to give readers the information they need to face financial decisions big and small.

Based in New York, the ideal candidate will be have five years of journalism experience, preferably with knowledge of finance.

The reporter will be expected to generate a never-ending stream of ideas, spot trends, find unique takes that put us at the forefront of the conversation, and work collaboratively with a team of other reporters and editors. He or she will need to produce spot stories daily as well as work on longer enterprise features.

Applications should include a resume, cover letter and up to six published clips.
