MarketWatch.com seeks a bitcoin reporter

MarketWatch seeks a reporter to cover bitcoin, blockchain, and the wealth of nationless finance. Tackling what’s undoubtedly the most fascinating, if confounding, beats in business journalism, this reporter will decode the world of cryptocurrencies for a general audience of investors and curious consumers, shedding light on its potential as both an asset and as a technology, while helping them hash out the boundaries between imagination and reality that lie at the very heart of money itself.

This reporter will produce daily reports, columns, and deeper dives that cover the swing in prices, regulation and policy, and most importantly the people developing, embracing, betting on, or shorting the future of this disruptive new technology.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: The candidate must have at least three years of experience as a financial or reporter, an obsession with markets and technology. The reporter must be able to work in a pressurized real-time environment with never-ending deadlines – and perhaps most importantly, play well with others in what is collegial, cooperative digital newsroom.
