Do you have a passion for journalistic excellence?

Then Louisiana Business Inc., a publisher in Baton Rouge that is one the most highly regarded producers of regional publications in the United States, is interested in you.

Our company is looking for an editorial director who will oversee all our editorial departments. Our operations include the biweekly Greater Baton Rouge Business Report; 225, a monthly city magazine; inRegister, a monthly high-end lifestyles magazine; Daily Report, a twice-a-day business e-newsletter; and a special projects unit that produces specialty and custom publications.

This position requires more than a talented journalist.

The job also demands a proven leader who can create an environment where colleagues pull together and seize upon opportunities for collaboration among our publications; a skilled coach who can bring out the best in young and experienced staffers alike; a good networker who is willing to immerse themselves in our community; and a news and information junkie who is comfortable in both print and digital media.

Candidates should have at least 10 years of management experience in either newspaper or magazine publishing, with a background in business journalism a plus. They should be extremely skilled wordsmiths and story editors in their own right. And they should understand the operation of content management systems (particularly WordPress) and be well-versed in reaching audiences through e-newsletters.

If this position interests you, send your resume with references and hard-copy samples or PDFs of publications and e-newsletters that you’ve produced to Julio Melara, president and COO, Louisiana Business Inc., 9029 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, La., 70809, or via email to julio@businessreport.com.
