The Los Angeles Business Journal, the leading source of news and information for the Los Angeles business community, is seeking an enterprising and energetic general assignment reporter for our print and digital properties.
The reporter is responsible for generating business-focused news and feature stories about the companies and executives driving the dynamic world of business across Los Angeles.
The general assignment reporter will report to the Deputy Editor and will deliver news with context for Business Journal readers. They will provide news and features for the print edition, daily breaking news updates for the digital platform and contribute the special report packages on both platforms.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain a network of sources and relationships with key players across the L.A. businesses.
Develop a deep knowledge of the people, companies and trends shaping the business environment across the region.
Provide breaking news reports and impactful feature stories for print and digital platforms, often on tight deadlines.
Attend local events, meetings and other relevant functions to develop contacts and conduct interviews.
Requirements:
A minimum of two years’ experience covering business at a print or digital outlet.
Ability to deliver quality content and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of the Los Angeles business market.
Demonstrated ability to connect on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
Bachelor’s Degree.
