Longreads is looking for writers to contribute new ideas for reading lists.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Longreads, founded in 2009, is dedicated to helping people find and share the best storytelling on the web. We publish essays, commentary, interviews, reading lists, and in-depth investigative reporting.

TIPS FOR READING LIST

  • Make sure to include “Reading List” in your email subject line. Include in your email some context about the topic you plan to explore in your list.
  • Explain what appeals to you about that topic. Include a few links to stories in your pitch.
  • If you are new to Diem, send us a writing sample. We’d like to hear your sense of writing style and voice.
  • Be sure that your pitch includes a diverse mix of publishers and writers. Take a look at our editors’ picks.

COMPENSATION

  • We pay $350 per reading list.
