Long Beach Business Journal seeks a reporter

The Long Beach Business Journal is seeking an experienced journalist to join our team.

Founded in March 1987, the Business Journal is a biweekly (every other Tuesday) newsmagazine covering the greater Long Beach area. We service an area that includes the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, the Long Beach Airport, several major hospitals, a growing creative sector and an expanding hospitality/tourism industry. We also focus on city hall issues impacting the business community.

We have just brought on one new writer, and are looking to bring on another. We are seeking a full-time, in-house writer who can write hard news stories and feature articles and handle several assignments at once. This is not a telecommuting position.

Preferred but not required:
– investigative journalism experience
– familiarity with the City of Long Beach and its business sectors
– proficiency in social media platforms
– bilingual a plus

Our office hours are M-F, 8:30-5:30. We provide company paid group medical, a dental plan, two weeks vacation, nine paid holidays and more.

Please e-mail Samantha Mehlinger at samantha_mehlinger@lbbj.com. Write “Writer Position” in the subject line and include your resume along with three recent clips of your writing. You may also drop off your resume and clips to: 2599 E. 28th Street, Suite 212, Signal Hill CA 90755.
