LinkedIn seeks health care editor

LinkedIn is looking for a journalist, newsletter writer or blogger with a passion for what’s happening in health care to cover breaking news and report on trends in that field.

The candidate will be joining a global team of editors who help create, curate and cultivate the content that flows through LinkedIn.As one of our two health care-focused editors, you’ll concentrate on explaining the changes happening in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology.

And you’ll have amazing tools to do this: Your content will reach a relevant audience of healthcare professionals, and your curated headlines from trade and national press will reach the right targeted audience.The candidate should have experience reporting on health care issues and trends; a strong news sense; excellent (and fast) writing skills; an original writing voice; and, most importantly, an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate is as interested in shaping a product as shaping a story.

The position is based in NYC or SF, working with teammates in Bangalore, London, Munich, Paris, Hong Kong, and São Paulo.

Responsibilities

  • Write 2-5 articles/week offering insight into healthcare happenings;
  • Assist our healthcare editor in curating healthcare and pharmaceutical content for the LinkedIn news feed and for your industry-relevant followers every day;
  • Forge relationships with top executives, administrators, analysts, medical professionals and publishers to make sure their content is feeding into LinkedIn;
  • Generate analysis on what’s working and what’s not, and come up with ways to increase engagement through content

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience covering or working in healthcare or related fields
  • 3+ years experience in news writing and editing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with original and curated news
  • Experience in reviewing data to spot trends
  • Excellent communication, writing and editing skills
  • Ability to shape products and stories
  • Ability to deal with top people in the healthcare industry
  • Experience in online media
  • Strong writer and reporter comfortable with analyzing data
  • Experience in news writing and editing
  • Experience with writing and producing newsletters a plus
