Liberty Hill Independent News & Media seeks a staff writer

The Independent is looking for a talented reporter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for local, community journalism. The candidate will be responsible for researching and writing stories, conducting interviews and attending various local meetings, events and functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and dedicated individual to become part of a dynamic newsroom and help shape the narrative of our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and write stories for print and digital media.
  • Interview sources and gather information for stories.
  • Edit stories for accuracy, clarity, and grammar.
  • Stay up-to-date on current events and trends in the industry.
  • Develop story ideas and angles.
  • Work with editors to ensure stories meet deadlines.
  • Develop relationships with sources to ensure access to reliable information.
