The York News-Times is seeking a journalist with the ability to cover a wide variety of topics including local news and features. Although the primary beat is covering police, fire and courts, flexibility is needed to cover other local news events and feature stories important to the community. One day you may interview the family of a crime victim, another day a business opening, and somedays, you would react at the drop of a hat to cover a fire, accident, natural disaster or local government issue. Every day is different. This is true local journalism where one can make an impact on a community which benefits from local news.
