The editor-at-large will help shape the direction of the wire or coverage area in consultation with an Assistant Managing Editor or Managing Editor. They will edit stories and work with junior reporters on the team while also contributing news analyses or features for the wire on a weekly basis. The role is intended as a hybrid between a reporter and an editor. There will be no managerial responsibilities attached to this role. This position is based in New York City.
Required experience includes:
- Six years of paid, full-time reporting experience
- Two years of paid, full-time reporting experience with a daily publication
- A demonstrated excellence in writing and reporting
- An interest in business and legal issues
Preferred experience includes:
- BA/BS degree in Journalism
- Graduate degree
- Experience in news reporting (AP Style), covering legal or business news
Law360 offers extensive training on legal topics. Business or legal reporting experience is not required. However, professional reporting experience and strong writing and analytical skills are required to succeed in this job.
