The senior M&A reporter is responsible for comprehensive coverage of all things mergers and acquisitions, including hard news and features/analysis. The role requires someone who can publish both regular and breaking news stories on tight deadlines, provide same-day or following-day analysis, and keep readers abreast of trends.
The reporter must be adept at dissecting press releases and regulatory filings, while also cultivating relationships with a variety of sources, including attorneys from BigLaw firms, executives at corporations and professors from Ivy League and other law schools, among others.
The role also requires someone who can maintain strict journalist standards while exploring complex issues and topics for a highly-educated readership.
Required:
- At least two years of full-time, paid reporting experience
- Demonstrated reporting and writing skills
Preferences:
- Experience covering corporate transactions
- Experience reporting for a legal audience
- Experience working a beat
Qualified candidates will be asked to complete writing and reporting tests electronically.
Law360 offers extensive training on legal topics. Business or legal reporting experience is not required. However, professional reporting experience and strong writing and analytical skills are required to succeed in this job.
