The Las Vegas Sun is seeking a reporter interested in covering one of the most dynamic, vibrant beats anywhere — gaming and tourism in Las Vegas.
The ideal candidate will be someone with a talent for detecting and analyzing trends, an ability to dissect earning reports, a knack for finding great feature stories and profiles, and the flexibility to produce content for a range of platforms. We’re looking for someone who can do everything from breaking a story online in real time to producing a magazine-style feature with multiple elements to writing enterprise stories explaining the inner workings of business developments and trends on the Las Vegas Strip.
Experience covering business is a plus, but we’ll consider candidates who have honed their skills in other topic areas and would like to take on business. Great work ethic and passion for providing our audiences with compelling, unique content are requirements.
In addition to the daily Sun print publication and its related websites, lasvegassun.com and vegasinc.com, the reporter will produce stories for The Sunday, a new weekly print publication offering graphically rich news stories, features and lifestyle content.
The Sun prides itself on the high journalistic quality of its work and its willingness to innovate. In 2013, lasvegassun.com received an EPPY Award for best news event or feature, tying with the Boston Globe’s collection of content stemming from the Boston Marathon bombing, and the Sun received more journalism awards in the Nevada Press Association journalism contest than any other news organization.
Please submit your resume and writing samples to jobs@gmgvegas.com with “Business Reporter” in the subject line.
