The Las Vegas Sun and Greenspun Media Group are seeking a Business and Gaming Reporter to cover development on the Las Vegas Strip, gaming, local government, transportation and more.

We’re seeking an experienced, energetic and inquisitive reporter for the job, which comes with an opportunity to quickly become one of the most widely followed journalists in our market. If something significant happens in Las Vegas, you’ll have a chance to report on it.

This is a vibrant time to become a reporter in Southern Nevada. Tourism is booming, recent construction activity includes a $1.8 billion stadium for the NFL’s Raiders, and new development is planned at many Strip properties.

Your work will also appear in Las Vegas Weekly, the city’s leading news, arts, entertainment and culture publication.

The successful candidate will have at least two years’ experience covering business or news in a midsized city or large metro, a strong grasp of social media and the ability to produce content ranging from quick turnaround on breaking news stories to long-form narratives. In addition, the candidate will have excellent writing skills, a competitive nature, a collaborative personality and the ability to self-direct.

The Sun is a product of Greenspun Media Group, a family-owned organization whose titles also include: Las Vegas Weekly; a group of leading websites, including award-winning LasVegasSun.com and VegasInc.com, the valley’s leading business coverage; and Las Vegas Magazine, which is distributed in most of the hotel rooms on the Las Vegas Strip.

We’re building a media company for the next 50 years, and we take pride in the quality and progressive nature of our work. The Las Vegas Sun won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 2009, and GMG’s sites have won EPPY Awards for five consecutive years, including a 2014 EPPY for Best Entertainment Website for lasvegasweekly.com.

Interested in applying?  If so, please send your résumé and clips to jobs@gmgvegas. com with ‘Business and Gaming Reporter’ in the subject line. Tell us how you would cover the city.
