The LNP Media Group, Inc. family of print and digital publications, part of Steinman Communications, is the biggest and most influential provider of news in Lancaster County, with a history of 225 years of excellence. We are in search of a tech-savvy and driven journalist to join our talented team.

The Development & Transportation Reporter, reporting under the direction of the Work & Wellness Team Leader, is a proven, experienced journalist who covers issues surrounding development and transportation – and the connection between the two – in Lancaster County. This beat covers everything from farm preservation and urban sprawl to zoning and transportation planning issues, affordable housing and the county’s changing landscape. When will the last piece of land ripe for development be used up? What’s the hottest use of land right now in the county, and where is the biggest potential? What’s the burden on our roads? What’s the slowest traffic light in Lancaster County? This reporter breaks down complex issues and develops enterprise stories for digital and print audiences that are presented in ways that are easily understood by lay readers. This reporter anticipates reader questions and develops stories — from quick digital posts to in-depth projects — to answer them. In any given week, the Development & Transportation Reporter could be writing on topics such as why a city panel’s decision on a historic property matters; rents in new retirement communities; a new development’s impact on traffic; controversial changes to historic landmarks; and implementation of the county’s Places2040 plan.

For more than two centuries, Steinman Communications has provided insightful news and information, effective marketing solutions, and outstanding service to the communities that we serve.  Our brands include LNP newspaper, LancasterOnline, and Susquehanna Printing Company.

Employees with Steinman Communications receive training for all new positions.  In addition, they enjoy a robust benefits package including 20 paid time off days per year, paid leave for maternity, short-term and long-term disability, health, vision and dental plans beginning the month following start date, and participation in the company sponsored 401(K) plan after one month of service.
