KPCW FM seeks a news reporter/anchor

Responsibilities:

  • Select topics for coverage and pitch story ideas
  • Build contacts and sources
  • Write and produce reports for on-air and digital platforms
  • Attend meetings and produce news assigned by the News Director
  • Occasionally contribute to live reports as news dictates

Planning:

  • Follow local and regional news along with relevant people and publications.
  • Read agendas and attend events, some of which don’t feel like work at all
    (opening day on the mountain, film festivals, etc.).

Administration:

  • Keep excellent records.
  • Manage tight deadlines and make solid decisions in rapidly changing situations.
  • Collaborate constantly with your team under the News Director’s supervision.

Experience:

  • College degree in journalism or related field required.
  • Prior news experience and fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong candidates possessing some but not all preferred experience will receive consideration.

Applicants must be able to commute or relocate to Park City, UT before starting work.
