Kindred is looking for writers

Black mothering folks and parents—I’m seeking pitches for reported essays for Kindred by Parents.com.

My interests are open. But I’m seeking the voices we’re missing when discussing Black parenting and mothering—especially queer/trans folks, disabled folks, and Black folks in low Black population regions.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

: The go-to guide for parenting effectively in today’s world, Parents is committed to helping moms and dads “raise the future.” Kindred is Parent’s community/section that offers support and solutions for people raising up a generation of free Black children.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN SUBMISSION

  • Write a short introduction about yourself
  • Include a paragraph highlighting your writing experience, relevant credentials and publication credits
  • Attach links to your strongest work or portfolio, and online profile.
  • Include a proposed headline, and 3 – 4 sentences connecting the personal to the societal. It helps to know the experts you’ll contact.

COMPENSATION

  • $250+ per article
