The Jacksonville Business Journal is hiring a reporter who can help us cover the growing Northeast Florida economy. The area is home to major financial services and transportation companies, cutting-edge health care businesses, a burgeoning technology scene and a growing real estate market.
We’re looking for someone who will source well and quickly, who isn’t afraid of digging into spreadsheets and public records, who can break a story and then turn around and explain what it means and why it matters to our readers.
The ideal candidate will have a love of business reporting, plus a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent. It’d be a huge plus if you have experience covering business, but a good track record on other beats plus an interest in the topic could go far.
The Jacksonville Business Journal is a daily online publication with a weekly print edition. As part of the American Cities Business Journals, we and our 42 sister papers make up the No. 1 source of local business news in the country.
If you’re interested, email JBJ editor-in-chief Timothy Gibbons at tgibbons@bizjournals.com. Include your resume, clips and whatever else you think will demonstrate you have what it takes to help us produce the best local business report in Florida.
