Investor’s Business Daily is seeking a full-time Markets Writer in Los Angeles to produce articles and other content, primarily on stocks and related investments. Our goal is to help IBD customers stay abreast of the stock market and make more money investing.

Duties will include reporting and writing articles for the Investors.com website and IBD Weekly newspaper on stock market trends, daily action in stocks and the best stocks in the market at any given time. The position also will involve creating videos or participating in the creation of videos, such as by developing scripts or appearing in videos to discuss stock market news and trends.

We emphasize facts and data over tips and opinion. In fact, we have our own stock market database, which we’ll show you how to mine for story details and ideas. We’ll also provide training as needed in key investing principles and stock analysis skills.

The ideal candidate is broadly knowledgeable about the stock market and financial data, turns around stories quickly, writes effectively for the web and works social media to keep up with the news and get content noticed. Video experience is a must.

At least three years of relevant journalism experience is preferred, but other candidates with strong skills will be considered. A four-year college degree is required.
IBD is a financial website and national weekly newspaper known for innovative coverage and fact-based analysis of the stock market, economy, business and public policy. We offer an environment that encourages and rewards learning and professional growth and the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of how to invest successfully.

Submit resume, cover letter, at least three writing samples and an on-air reel to Ebony Jones-Kuye @ ebony.jones@daicompanies.com. Writing samples can be provided as links, attached as Word documents or PDFs, or pasted into the message. Please put Markets Writer in the email subject field.
