You 

You will lead a team of editors in the execution of all original content for Investopedia, including conceptualizing, managing, and producing written content, info-graphics, and videos that appeal to our existing audiences and new audiences we are seeking to draw

You’ve lead an editorial team focused on business news and investing and helped scale best in class finance related editorial products and web content

You’re skilled at using analytics to aid audience engagement, and drive a demand-driven web content mode

Your management brings out the best from all members of your team identifying training and development needs and supporting their growth

You’re attuned to your readers and developed communication channels to elicit feedback / interaction to best execute on overall strategy

You have sources and industry contacts that bring access to our Users and unleashes unique and exclusive content

You should have a thick skin to handle a budget, reports, a modern digital media room, as well as a passionate board room

Responsibilities

The Sr. Supervising Editor will need to understand and be able to compete and lead in the new digital finance content market place, working closely with the product and sales team to generate the revenue to allow for further product development and creativity.

  • Manage and direct tasks of all editorial staff, including channel editors, content operations analysts, freelance staff, and content data scientists
  • Administer the production of original content for the various channels on Investopedia including: Investing, Markets, Wealth Management, Retirement and Financial Advisors, Video, Graphics. Mobile, as well as syndicated content
  • Become an expert in all aspects of content production leveraging data and analytics in order to provide inform decisions and develop strategic direction
  • Oversee implementation, ensure perceptive capture of data driven insights, application of relevant marketplace trends, and amplification of plans to drive ROI
  • Develop and articulate the Investopedia brand voice, ensure there is a consistent style, quality and feel for all Investopedia digital platforms
  • Manage and develop editorial calendar and channel programming to determine key messaging and story ideas
  • Work closely with the Executive team and keep them apprised of all content strategies and offerings being developed and implemented

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in the online financial\news\business content space
  • Outstanding editorial judgment, strong oral/written communications skills, and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Direct experience writing, editing, and managing large teams for a highly trafficked digital publications
  • Enthusiastic team leader and experienced manager of staff, budgets, projects, deadlines, and experience leveraging startup resources with big vision deliverables
  • Ability to balance high level strategic thinking with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
  • Fluency in the creative, strategic, operational, and analytical aspects of daily publishing
  • Significant experience with spreadsheets and Google Analytics
  • Solid understanding of multiple content platforms, CMS systems, and website technology
  • Brand publishing experience and knowledge of the marketing industry a plus
  • Passionate about Investing and Finance News and Information
