InvestmentNews seeks AME in New York

InvestmentNews is seeking a bright, ambitious and experienced assistant managing editor to join its editorial team and to take charge of Crain’s Wealth, a successful, consumer-oriented, website that is managed and maintained by InvestmentNews. This is an excellent opportunity for a personal finance editor with a passion for investing, retirement planning, tax and estate issues and a proven track record of audience development in the newsroom.

Reporting to the editor of InvestmentNews, the assistant managing editor of Crain’s Wealth will be responsible for posting daily content to the site and for assembling a weekly Crain’s Wealth newsletter and making sure it is properly deployed.

The person filling this role would also be expected to develop and implement strategies intended to drive more traffic to the site (page views and visits) and increase engagement with readers (length of time on site, number of pages viewed per visit and open rates.

The assistant managing editor of Crain’s Wealth would also have duties and responsibilities related to InvestmentNews – both on its print and online platforms.

Specific Duties:
1) Selecting and editing daily content for the Crain’s Wealth website, including stories, galleries, video and infographics
2) Preparing the weekly newsletter for distribution of Crain’s Wealth content
3) Manage relationships with third-party contributors to keep a robust inventory of contributed content on the site
4) Develop and maintain a strong social media presence for Crain’s Wealth
5) Conceive, plan and moderate webcasts suitable to the site’s audience
6) Daily editing and publishing of stories for InvestmentNews.com
7) Participate in daily news meetings
8) Oversee the production of special reports and cover stories for InvestmentNews
9) Using basic HTML coding to create links and embed video within a content management system

In addition, the person filling this role will be responsible for growing Crain’s Wealth’s audience and applying strategies to increase audience engagement. Potential candidates should have experience in using Google Analytics to evaluate and improve the performance of online content will be strongly considered.
