Investment News seeks senior projects editor

InvestmentNews, the preeminent source of news and information for financial advisers, is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Special Projects Editor to help expand our fast-growing franchise of editorial-based projects that grow and engage our core audience and generate revenue.

The role involves developing concepts for, and working with our editorial team to produce supplements, newsletters, events and print and online features that may be tied to award-recognition programs.

The person in this role will be expected to act as a liaison between our editorial, sales and marketing teams to ensure that all stakeholders are working in sync. This position will report the editor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Special projects: Develop new editorial initiatives and oversee existing ones, including:
40 Under 40
Women to Watch
Icons and Innovators
Best Places to Work
Editorial supplements: Manage all print supplements (formulate ideas, assign stories, edit material, work with art department and freelancers to produce supplements).
Assist in the deployment of editorial newsletters
Program editorial webcasts, roundtables and conferences
Develop and oversee a cohesive strategy for utilizing and distributing content (blogs, op-eds, etc.) from outside industry influencers.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
