InvestmentNews is seeking a smart, aggressive journalist to cover the mutual fund and exchange-traded fund industries.
This beat is extremely important and influential – as the vast majority of mutual funds sold in the U.S. are sold through financial advisers and advisers’ use of ETFs is growing exponentially. This person would be expected to own InvestmentNews’ coverage of these two important areas and ensure that InvestmentNews remains the go-to source for breaking news and analysis on mutual funds and ETfs as well as the companies that manufacture and distribute them.
InvestmentNews covers the mutual fund industry by following the money, the companies, the innovators and the gadflies. We’re looking for a reporter that is able to unearth news in an extremely competitive space, explain complex investment ideas clearly and concisely and write compelling personality-drive features and profiles. That reporter also needs to be adept at utilizing social media to engage with readers and comfortable assuming the role of “subject matter expert” – both on camera as well as off.

Qualifications/Attributes
• At least three years of reporting experience.
• Knowledge of financial services, specifically of the mutual fund and ETF industries a definite plus.
