International Digital Times seeks Apple reporter

The International Digital Times (idigitaltimes.com) is seeking an Apple/Tech reporter that can articulate his/her passion for emerging tech, software and news for Apple’s product line. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in Apple products and be able to demonstrate deep knowledge and expertise while also crafting articles with a strong voice and shrewd SEO tactics.

The position requires an enthusiastic tech nerd who has no problem spending hours debating the latest apps, jailbreaks and rumored specs for all things Apple. The reporter should be able to identify the news of the day before it happens by paying attention to the most relevant blogs, tweets, websites and forums. Knowledge of patents and patent law is a huge plus.

In addition to Apple news, the reporter will have the opportunity to cover other subjects across a wide swath of interests including video games, movies, comics, television and more. iDigitalTimes is a young website that is growing fast and is seeking candidates who are interested in making an impact on the long term vision of the site. In addition to a competitive entry-level salary reporters have the opportunity to earn substantial bonuses.

The job is based in New York, N.Y., and candidates must be currently living in the NYC Metro Area or willing to relocate at their own expense.

Desired Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a high degree of knowledge regarding mobile technology and software as well as an instinct for identifying trends and hot-button issues.

  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or other related field
  • Published work in reputable publications
  • Proven ability to identify popular and emerging trends
  • Ability to write multiple stories throughout the day under tight deadlines
  • Creative, outside the box thinking and a good sense of humor
  • Firm understanding of tech specs and terminology
  • Knowledge of SEO, social media and basic HTML
  • Photoshop, image editing and graphic design skills a plus
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and a grounded work ethic.
