International Business Times seeks tech reporter

The International Business Times is seeking a full-time technology reporter to work out of our New York office Monday through Friday. We’re looking for a reporter that can write original stories as well as cover breaking news, reviews and technology guides.

Role Description:

This role will be focused on Security, Privacy AI, and general tech news. This is the start of a new vertical for our site so there will be plenty of room for innovation and creativity. We want a go-to person for technology news.

Role Responsibilities:

The IBT tech reporting responsibilities include:

  • Writing original content on a weekly basis for IBT
  • Working quickly, yet accurately, to cover daily breaking news and publish as it happens
  • Follow AP Style
  • The ability to build a network of industry contacts and sources
  • Forward planning for known technology news events

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous online technology reporting experience
  • Knowledge and experience with SEO and online journalism
  • Flexible hours

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
