International Business Times seeks an editor of Player.One

Player.One is seeking a talented Editor to lead the editorial team of our fast-growing gaming and player news and info website. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the gamer culture, must be a hardcore gamer, and have a deep network of gamers that can be recruited as contributors, and a passion for creating high-quality and multi-media content.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily content creation and ensure that all articles meet Player.One’s high standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Manage and mentor a team of writers and editors, providing guidance and feedback to help them develop their skills and produce excellent content.
  • Develop and grow a network of gamer contributors to become the largest on the web.
  • Develop and implement an editorial strategy that aligns with Player.One’s mission and goals.
  • Ensure that the website’s content is on track to meet its growth and revenue goals.
  • Execute on opportunities to optimize content for search engines.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to stay up-to-date on the latest gaming news and trends.
  • Represent Player.One at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a digital editorial role.
  • Deep understanding of the gamer world.
  • Great writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating engaging content.
  • Experience with SEO best practices and the ability to write headlines and article summaries that grab readers’ attention.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and other web analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with writers, editors, and other members of the team.
  • A strong work ethic, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
