Insider Inc. seeks a junior news reporter, weekends, UK

Insider is hiring a junior reporter to join our weekend team in the UK to cover news.

The Role & Team:

The weekend news team is part of the UK news desk, contributing a mixture of breaking-news coverage and deeper work. The ideal candidate is someone with an intense interest in news and who is happy in a fast-paced environment. This person should be particularly enthusiastic about US and international news, and the prospect of working with Insider’s bureaus around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spotting and covering news events as they unfold
  • Driving major stories forward
  • Pursuing longer features and investigations
  • Writing accurate and clean copy

The ideal candidate has:

  • A passion for news (with a focus on US and international news)
  • A journalism background and some experience of news reporting online
  • An ability to write quickly and accurately
  • A self-starter attitude and excellent organisational skills
  • A love of Insider and what we do
  • A desire to work as part of a global team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of social media and SEO

This role has a working schedule Wednesday-Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday off.

Salary: Competitive salary based on skills and experience. This role has a minimum salary of £35,000.
