Insider Inc.is hiring a copyediting fellow to produce daily Facebook Watch show

Insider Inc. is hiring a paid copyediting fellow to work with its video content and help produce a daily show published on Facebook Watch. This intern will be based in New York.
The Insider Fellowship Program is for early-career journalists who want to spend six months learning from a newsroom full of passionate, dedicated journalists. Fellows are assigned to teams and become experts in digital storytelling. They produce real work that is distributed to Insider’s audience of millions, and leave ready for the next phase of their journalism careers. For more information on the Insider Fellowship Program, see here.
The copyediting fellow will primarily edit copy for Insider’s daily Facebook Watch show, “Business Insider Today,” but also have opportunities to work on other shows and projects. This person will be responsible for editing copy on-screen for grammar, punctuation, spelling, sense and Insider Inc. style. BI Today is a business-focused show, but that can include everything from news to food, celebrity to science, politics to sports, and all the rest.
Insider Inc. looking for someone meticulous who has a passion for grammar, punctuation, and spelling, and who can work quickly and independently. Attention to detail is necessary but so is speed and responsiveness.
Requirements:
  • Professional experience copyediting, preferably for television or video (If you do not have experience copyediting, please do not apply.)
  • Familiarity with AP style, content-management systems, social media, and instant messaging.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a good ear for language.
  • Pass a two-part editing test, on page and on-screen.
Fellows are encouraged to work 40 hours a week, and fellowships run for six months. Start date for this position will be as soon as possible.
