Forbes recently ranked Indianapolis fifth on its list of cities creating the most tech jobs, Smart Asset ranked it the fourth-best city in the nation for women in technology, and VentureBeat has named Indy to its list of four cities outside Silicon Valley that are home to the most interesting tech activity. The rankings come in part because Indianapolis is home to the largest Salesforce operation outside its headquarters in California and landed the first Infosys tech center in the U.S. But it’s also about homegrown startups, a new internet-of-things lab and several strong research universities.
