Inc. seeks tech reporter in San Francisco

Inc.com is looking for a full-time staff reporter to cover technology and startups and entrepreneurs in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities will include blogging the news and writing features and analysis that help readers understand what it all means for them.

Requirements: The ideal candidate must have great writing skills, news judgment, dot-connecting and a passion for the web. Knowledge of entrepreneurship is a plus, and contacts in the tech industry/startup scene are a big plus.

The ideal candidate is a digital native and has at least one year’s experience in business journalism. Should be a self-starter and a thoughtful, opinionated and articulate writer who is interested in building his or her voice and journalistic brand on Inc.com.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
