Inc.com seeks digital photo editor in New York

Inc.com is seeking a creative digital photo editor to join its team.

The successful candidate can juggle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, work on tight deadlines, and be comfortable working independently. The job is based in New York.

Duties include:

— Photo research and production for all of Inc.com’s content (art for articles, slideshows, photo essays, etc.)
— Optimizing images for web
— Assisting Inc.com’s editorial staff and network of contributing writers with art selection
— Troubleshooting and brainstorming photo aspects of Inc.com’s custom CMS and training staff on how to use them
— Maintaining a photo budget
— Negotiating usage fees and image rights

Requirements:

— A good eye and ample research skills
— Knowledge and experience working with a wide range of photo agencies
— Photoshop fluency including: color correction, cropping, light retouching, composite imagery, and web optimization of images
— CMS experience
— Comfort shooting with a digital SLR camera for occasional portraits and products

He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
