  • Validate and help assess the quality of the data obtained and used for different projects.
  • Help identify story leads and reporting possibilities through public data gathering and analysis.
  • Help with training activities to contribute with the understanding of the data and research used for specific ICIJ projects.

Your skills and experience:

Essential:

  • At least 7 years of experience as data editor or data journalist.
  • Experience in managing teams and coordinating data driven reporting.
  • Experience in providing editorial guidance to help identify best data analysis and research approaches based on complexity, quality, size and data structure.
  • Experience in cleaning, fact-checking and enhancing data (with programming or spreadsheet softwares).
  • Experience in collaborating on the visualization of data in charts, graphics and interactive applications.
  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data and research relevant context and documentation linked to it.
  • Writing abilities and excellent communication skills.
  • Good organizational and leadership skills.

Preferred:

  • At least one additional language (among Spanish, French, German, Portuguese).
