This 142-year-old newspaper is seeking a reporter who will help us continue our mission of local community journalism and to be part of the team seeking to create the best products in the industry.
Responsibilities could include a wide variety of news and features ranging from local schools and community events, county and city government, and community activities.
A working knowledge of InDesign and page layout is a plus.
The successful candidate should be comfortable in conducting in-person, virtual and phone interviews, be well-versed in AP style and have basic photography skills.
Gatesville is located in central Texas approximately 35 miles southwest of Waco. It has the perfect small town/community atmosphere and the newspaper has a wonderful team atmosphere. We enjoy what we do!
Drivers’ license, auto insurance and good driving record are required.

At least two years’ experience in journalism is preferred, but we will train the right recent graduate. If you are looking for a chance to advance in the newspaper business, this is the job for you.
