Additionally, the managing editor will be bringing in ideas, inspiration, and guidance to the staff while directing the allocation of resources online, on mobile, email, print and on social platforms. The ME will be reporting directly to the editor-in-chief.
The duties would include employing smart news, making quick judgments, motivating and helping the newsroom, managing people and content, embracing growth and change, communicating with everyone and creating a collaborative newsroom culture.
Candidates must have an interest in team leadership and should be easy in working in a rapid-fire digital environment.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 10 years of experience in a newsroom. Beat reporting experience is also required while management experience is a plus.
