The Houston Chronicle, one of the largest newspapers in the United States, is looking for a highly skilled energy reporter to join our business team.
Greater Houston is arguably the international hub of all things energy with more than 20 Fortune 500 energy or energy-related companies. The city is home to virtually every type of energy business out there – from petrochemicals to oil production to pipelines to natural gas to renewables.
In fact, energy is so big in Houston that we created our own energy news website — FuelFix.com. Six Chronicle reporters contribute to FuelFix, as well as guess contributors and wire services. Fuel Fix has become a fixture in energy news, averaging about 600,000 unique viewers monthly in 2015, almost double its reach from the previous year.
The energy reporter will join the Chronicle’s energy team that covers a broad range of industry news. This is a demanding position that requires strong writing chops and nose for exclusives as well as deeper analysis and story-telling. Much of your work should end up on the front page.
