Herald-Banner Publications is looking for an eager J-school grad (or soon-to-be grad) or even a still-wet-behind-the-ears reporter who’s ready for bigger responsibilities with an eye on advancing your career long-term.
The right candidate for this position is a go-getter wanting to take ownership of their beat for a pair of weeklies on the eastern side of the DFW Metroplex in one of the richest per capita counties in the state. And there’s no shortage of news to write about.
Coverage would range from city and county government news to a pair of successful school districts and from community people stories to crime and development. And just about everything in between.
Skills that will grab our attention are obviously writing (including proper AP style), storytelling, photography, copy editing and proofreading and a thirst to explore new media avenues we might have through our websites.
