Hearst Connecticut Media Group’s journalists cover communities in Fairfield and New Haven Counties and beyond, serving readers across platforms, including our websites – which now includes a statewide website, CTInsider.com – an app, newsletters, social media accounts and more for eight daily and 13 weekly newspapers.
The Managing Editor will play a vital role in overseeing the editorial operations of the New Haven Register, one of Connecticut’s most prominent news publications. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving editorial strategy, managing a team of journalists, and ensuring the delivery of compelling, relevant, and accurate news stories to our readership. This position requires a strong journalistic background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering impactful local news.
The editor should be adept at managing a daily flow of stories to inform and engage local readers. They should be able to use audience data to inform news coverage decisions, while evolving content with depth, interactivity and reach through a digital lens.

This full-time job with benefits is based in Connecticut and is not eligible for remote candidates. We are hybrid with 2 – 3 days in office.
