At this time, we are building out our roster of freelance writers for posts related to cannabis. We are interested in exploring the health benefits of cannabis with regard to a range of conditions, from pain to mental health issues. We’re also looking at the side effects of cannabis use, its potential risks, and how the substance can be misused. Most of all, we’re looking for content that examines cannabis from a balanced perspective: from the medical and mental health sides as well as the practical user experience.
As with all of our content, our cannabis posts should be authoritative, accessible, and helpful for as wide of an audience as possible. We are targeting readers who may be using cannabis for medical and/or personal reasons.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
GoodRx is America’s healthcare marketplace. Each month, millions of people visit goodrx.com to find reliable health information and discounts for their healthcare — and we’ve helped people save $35 billion since 2011. We provide prescription discounts that are accepted at more than 70,000 pharmacies in the U.S., as well as telehealth services including doctor visits and lab tests. Our services have been positively reviewed by Good Morning America, The New York Times, NBC News, AARP, and many others.
Our goal is to help Americans find convenient and affordable healthcare. We offer solutions for consumers, employers, health plans, and anyone else who shares our desire to provide affordable prescriptions to all Americans.
ABOUT THE ROLE
GoodRx is seeking freelance writers to contribute content in conjunction with our Editorial team. We’re looking for writers who are passionate about objective research, crafting content that brings health topics to life through engaging storytelling, and helping readers understand their health and healthcare options. You will use your journalism and research expertise to write short- and long-form articles that are insightful, empowering, and grounded in scientific evidence.
We require writers to adhere closely to our style and sourcing guidelines, as well as to use empathetic and inclusive language. Experience writing consumer-facing health content is a must.
We’re not interested in cannabis content that is geared toward particular products, brands, dispensaries, etc. For the most part, we are also not interested in the business side of the cannabis industry (unless something comes up that could have health impacts for those who use cannabis.)
Ultimately, cannabis is an emerging topic with lots of new research arriving, and so our writer(s) will need to have a good grasp of available sources to cite, as well as an eye to where our understanding of cannabis may be headed. Being able to regularly pitch new ideas related to cannabis is a must.
