Glossy seeks reporter to cover wellness and beauty industries

Glossy is hiring a reporter to cover the evolution of the beauty and wellness industries. This person needs to be an experienced reporter, with an interest in how today’s brands and retailers are growing to adapt to social media, e-commerce, mobile commerce, in-store technologies, emerging business models and new, digital-focused products. The ability to come up with fresh story ideas and formats, as well as provide input on Glossy events is essential.

Job Duties:

  • Pitch and write timely and reported stories based on what’s happening in beauty and wellness
  • Identify emerging and ongoing trends in digital that are affecting these industries
  • Stay up to date on the latest beauty and wellness news
  • Differentiate from and improve upon existing coverage, while using Glossy’s tone and voice
  • Have an extensive network of contacts, including brands, agencies, influencers, analysts and bankers
  • Attend off-site events
  • Work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines

He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
