The ideal candidate will be obsessive about technology, science, and geek culture, and have experience assigning coverage and developing editorial strategy across these subject areas. This role requires a leader who can manage, mentor, and motivate a large, growing (~30) team; is adept in a fast-paced, digital news environment, and has big ideas about what an authoritative, conversation-starting technology publication should cover in 2017 and beyond.
We need someone who is growth oriented, and can strike the right balance between deepening audience engagement and quality reporting. The ideal candidate will also have experience in, and enthusiasm for, growing the Gizmodo brand in ways that extend far beyond written stories–think video, podcasting, events and newsletters.
