Gizmodo seeks a tech reporter

Gizmodo, Gizmodo Media Group’s leading authority on tech, gadgets, science, and geek culture, is looking for a Consumer Tech Reporter.

About the Company:

Gizmodo Media Group is the publisher of the web’s most original and fearless media brands, including Gizmodo, Earther, Kotaku, Lifehacker, Jezebel, Deadspin, Splinter, Jalopnik and The Root.  As part of Fusion Media Group, we reach an audience of +120 million visitors a month — more than one-third of all Americans.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a writer with a passionate interest in gadgets and tech to join our badass team of reviewers and reporters on the consumer technology beat. The right candidate will be quick with a sharp analytical take on the news of the day and  creative ideas for interesting reviews and stories outside the world of blockbuster products from Apple. Though on-camera experience isn’t required, you should be comfortable participating in our active video program. You’re not expected to show up with a Rolodex of PR contacts, but keeping in touch with the wide range of publicists and marketing people is an important part of the job, so you should be able to manage these relationships professionally.

The Ideal Candidate will
  • Have experience working at a major digital or print outlet with strong consumer technology coverage
  • Have a demonstrable enthusiasm for cutting-edge technology
  • Be comfortable writing analysis, news, reviews, and how-tos
  • Have desire to be on camera and to work with our video team
  • Have strong opinions

Please apply with a resume, cover letter, and answer the job-specific questions below.
