The Times-Picayune, a locally-owned, Pulitzer Prize-winning news organization dedicated to serving the New Orleans area, is seeking a reporter to cover the city’s only first-ring suburb, Jefferson Parish.
We’re looking for a reporter eager to tell important stories in an area that is rich with colorful politics, home to major economic development projects and threatened by storms and rising seas.
Applicants should have experience covering a beat, as well as a track record of breaking news and developing complex enterprise. They should be skilled online and adept at juggling deadline stories with longer-term projects.
They should also enjoy working in a collaborative newsroom environment, and always be seeking new ways to engage readers while upholding our standards of fairness and accuracy.
