The Senior Business Reporter will be tasked with ideating, writing and reporting on coverage of the business of entertainment, including film, television and media, with breaking news, deeply reported stories and earnings coverage and analysis. The ideal candidate is well-sourced within the industry and with analysts and can quickly turn around a sharp story on the biggest developments that are shaping entertainment today. Excellent journalism and reporting skills are a must.
Required skills:
- 5-7 years of experience working in a digital newsroom or wire service
- Sourcing within the entertainment industry
- Ability to analyze and report on earnings and financial performance
- Superior news judgment and writing skills
- Passion for entertainment news and the players involved
- Proficiency on a CMS such as WordPress
- Excellent SEO skills
- Typical salary range: $100,000 – $115,000
