Last year we launched a U.S. edition of the website and are looking for a Technology and Science Reporter to join our team.
The Sun’s office is in New York, but candidates based on the West Coast are welcome to apply.
The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, collaborative team member, who thrives in a fast-paced digital news environment. The ideal candidate has excellent storytelling instincts, research and communication skills, and solid contacts in the industry.
The role reports to the US Digital Editor.
Purpose of role: We are looking for a technology and science reporter to write for our growing team. Applications are welcome from experts as well as news reporters who want to specialize.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven ability to cover everything from the launch of an iPhone to the ongoing search for extraterrestrial life, whilst finding agenda-leading exclusives.
- Ability to write brilliant headlines in ta tabloid style at speed.
- Expert knowledge of social media and a good understanding of SEO.
- A passion for bringing tech and science to a mass audience.
- Understanding of The Sun brand and audience.
- Being a self-starter is key – and you will need to thrive under the pressure of a busy newsroom.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
