TechCrunch seeks a senior writer

TechCrunch is looking for a senior writer in the Bay Area who can work with a team of editors and writers to cover innovative companies, both big and small, as they release news that impacts our core audience of startup teams, operators within the tech industry, and  startup investors.

A Little About You:

  • This role of senior writer in the Bay Area requires 3+ years of experience with reporting, writing, and editing.
  • You need to be a self-starter with excellent writing skills, keen news judgment, and a willingness to work both independently and collaboratively with a closely knit team.
  • You love breaking news, chasing down tips, and being first to a story –  including about the people who matter to our audience.
  • At the same time, you also have the ability to write longer-form deep dives, investigative pieces, and analysis that ties together trends for readers. (You relish telling stories.) You also enjoy helping teammates hone their own story ideas and, sometimes, help with light edits.
  • In addition to writing several pieces each week of varying lengths, this role requires contributing to an array of products as your expertise is needed, including TechCrunch’s newsletters, podcasts, videos, and events.
  • Not last, you are available and eager to attend networking events in your backyard to build up your sourcing.
