If so, the U.S. financials team at S&P Global Market Intelligence is seeking a hungry reporter to cover community banks, one of the most important beats in our newsroom. Community banking is core to many of our readers’ interests and a dynamic sector of the financial industry. Facing competition from both too-big-to-fail megabanks and upstart fintechs, community banking has a challenging road ahead that makes for compelling storytelling opportunities. We have seasoned editors who can help guide writers. We want to speak with candidates who are ready to learn and can take advantage of our training and guidance. Above all we are seeking self-starters who are not afraid to make a bunch of calls to get to the bottom of a story.

Our team covers financial institutions of all sizes. We follow storied banks as well as the financial technology companies disrupting the traditional landscape. Our reporters combine interviews with industry sources with our deep data set to produce articles that resonate with our long-established reader base. Our global newsroom consists of more than 250 reporters and editors across five continents.

The Impact: Our real-time, subscription-based news service reaches an influential readership that includes major institutional investors, regulators and almost all of Wall Street’s leading investment banks. With a focus on data-driven content, you will work closely with analysts and experts to uncover emerging industry trends.

What’s in it for you:

  • Gain on-the-job training from experienced editors
  • Use our unmatched data to tell stories while working closely with in-house data journalists and subject matter authorities
  • Become an expert on parts of the financial services industry

  • Enjoy a casual working environment

Responsibilities:
